Ok, if you don't know the whole story of Toonstruck 2, I need to tell you what this community is about. Back in 1996, there was an adventure game known as Toonstruck, in the vein of "Cool world" and "Who framed Roger Rabbit?", about a living animator (played by Christopher Lloyd) trapped in the cartoon world.
Before the release, the game was cut in two parts with the intention to release the second part as a sequel. Unfortunately, the first game was a commercial failure, and this never happened.
Now, in 2010, Keith Arem, the musical director of Toonstruck, who now owns the rights to it, is planning to re-release Toonstruck and include the second part. But he needs "tremendous fan support" to interest the publishers and raise funding. So there's a fan petition with a goal of 50000 signatures. Though it's a difficult task, we, adventure game fans, should do our best to achieve it! The fate of Toonstruck 2 lies in our hands!
Here you can read two letters (1, 2) by Mr. Arem, as well as a mini-interview with him.
This news has already received coverage on gaming sites:
Rock, Paper, Shotgun
But wait, there's more!
Keith Arem attached a very interesting goodie to one of his letters. It's a music list (password: "toonstruck") for Toonstruck, both first and second. So now we can learn many interesting things about the characters and locations of Toonstruck 2. It's now clear that we'll visit Frank's Cryo Crypt, Fantasy World, Creepy Dentist's Office, Swamp and other cool new locations, and revisit the familiar places of Cutopia, Zanydu and Malevolands.
So let's collaborate in the effort to make this dream true! Sign the petition and support Toonstruck 2!
